Top 10 Beauty Tips

I'm sharing a few of my favorite beauty tips from a beauty night I put together for some girls at my church this week!

Natural Face: Minimal fresh faced makeup - brows, mascara, little eyeshadow, dewy face, lip gloss. Less is more during the day
All you really need is a great mascara, concealer for blemishes and gloss. Add a pop of blush in winter.
Here's a secret I wish I knew then: gorgeous skin is dewy and natural and heavy foundations leave look looking anything but. A better bet than foundation is tinted moisturizers, which didn't exist when I was a teenager. You pat concealer in, you never rub it in.
Bold lips and light eyes: You always want to play up your lips or eyes, never both. It can look clownish when you play up both. What lip color works best with what skin tone.
Fair skin often looks great with more orange-based shades. Look for fruity colors that really brighten your look without overpowering it!
For pinks, choose clear shades, and stick to a true red with equal amounts of yellow and blue.
To contrast with your olive skin, look for blue undertones.
Bold eyes and light lips : Brown eyes: can get away with most colors but rich shades of violet and green will make your eyes pop.enhance their natural warmth
Blue eyes:  shades of ashy brown and sienna naturally complement blue eyes
Green eyes: go with warmer browns and violets with a hue of red
Hazel eyes: go with darker eyeliner to make them appear lighter and use golds and browns for the eyeshadow.

I made this handout below for each girl so they could rememeber some top tips of the night!

  1. These are awesome tips! The question I've always had is--why do you finish off with cold water to seal the cuticle if you end up using heat with your blowdryer? Is that tip only for when you are air drying?

I love your comments so much! Thanks so much for reading!! xoxo.
